Global Awareness Club?

I have a group called Global Awareness at my HS and I was wondering if anyone would contribute ideas that I might be able to incorporate into the club this next school year. In the group we just mainly try to raise awareness in multiple areas ranging from environmentalism to poverty relief and we're going to involve other organizations to donate time and money to. We're a relatively new club that hasn't quite set the ways yet and we like new, fresh ideas! Anyone with experience in the area or just some helpful words would be greatly appreciated. Also, we're at an art school so if anyone could think of that as an advantage that would be great too!

1. here's one... venus, mars, jupiter, titan and to a tiny extent pluto, are all experiencing "global warming"... and the sun has been proven to be a bit brighter than normal... since the sun makes light at the same time as making heat... how the hell did humans heat up the entire solar system with CO2?!?!?!
2. Kudos on taking the initiative to increase informed action! I've been involved in all sorts of activism over the past few years and have recently become involved in a social action network. I love the community education and resources our group provides. Creating such a network at your school would provide great resources for interested students. When preparing certain topics to present on (such as the environment or poverty) research local organizations that are currently working in those areas. Find out what individuals can do to help, what resources are necessary and how to become part of such an organization. Also educate people on what these groups are doing to make a difference. This way you're not only providing information but a means of taking immediate and informed action. I've loved being part of such a group- instead of creating more action-oriented groups that are disconnected from one another, we're bringing existing activists together around important causes. I'm sure with your various talents and desire to connect art with positive social change you can make quite an impact. Best wishes!
