How much should I pay for an e-commerce website?

I have received quotes, but wanted more of an idea. The e-commerce site would be custom designed and I have over 1000 products with approximately 6 different categories. I would also need continuous update services and marketing.

  1. Ok, my wife and I have had 2 ecommerce sites made ( http://www.soycandlesofocala.com and http://www.signaturecowboy.com ) They were made by http://www.samwilson3d.com and they cost $475 plus data entry. But we didn't need the data entry as it is very very simple. An employee at my candle shop adds new products whenever we get them. samwilson3d will show you how to do it - or they can do it for you for about $1 per product. Only takes about 60 seconds to enter a new product though. Our sites began getting traffic immediately with 400 unique visitors in the first month. -also you can test-drive the interface before you decide (it may have changed since I saw it last) but go to http://www.samwilson3d.com/ecommerce , log in and click "add product"

Refer to their "Build A Website" menu and choose "Custom Website Design". Hope this helps.
